Our Response To The COVID-19 Pandemic

March 2020 brought us the largest public health crisis our nation has faced in the century, and one of the largest health crisis faced by the world. The country suffered through increasing infection rates, until a nationwide lockdown was declared on 25 th of March. This affected industry and businesses, but for the sake of safety, the lockdown was implemented at great cost by all Indians. However, the government soon realized that lockdowns were not a sustainable solution to this health crisis considering that people depended on their employment for basic needs like food and medicine. Industries got permission to open up manufacturing facilities, under the condition that they would satisfy safety protocol.

We are proud to say that the team at ReySam rose up magnificently to the occasion. The management, led by Mr. Pradeep Pathak sculpted out a series of safety measures for factory personnel and staff. These were implemented enthusiastically by the team. Some additional checks were imposed by the management in additional to these safety measures. We would like to share here some COVID safety measures followed at ReySam with the hopes that people in the manufacturing community benefit from these ideas.

Starting March 2020, ReySam provided two free reusable masks to all its employees, with additional masks to be provided in event of damage. Masks were made compulsory on factory premises, with a fine for any personnel seen without a mask. Reusable masks were used because of their higher quality and lower environmental footprint. This safety measure has received a good response from all personnel Sanitizer dispensers are placed near entry and at strategic locations on the shop floor. Extra soap is provided at wash basins. On entry, factory personnel is instructed to fully wash their hands before commencing any activity. Generous use of sanitizer is recommended intermittently throughout the day. To avoid close contact during the day, the lunch break is divided into two sections(staggered), with sufficient space between personnel.

In addition to these measures, we started checking temperature of all employees at the entrance using an infrared thermometer before entry. Employees complaining of illness/fever were also provided an oximeter. Our entire facility was sprayed and sanitized with a Sodium hypochlorite solution once a week, as recommended by Dr Atul Sajgure and Dr. Vasanti Sajgure. Through rigorous measures, we have been able to stave off the threat of COVID infection for 9 months. We hope to keep up our track record and keep our employees safe. Safety First!
